The rules that govern your use of TruthCast. Read once, keep for reference.
TruthCast is operated by TruthCast Ltd ("TruthCast", "we", "us"), based in London, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@truthcast.io.
By creating an account, using the service at truthcast.io, or clicking any "Sign up" / "Get started" button, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use TruthCast.
TruthCast is a reputation intelligence platform for public figures, creators, and brands. Core capabilities:
We're a software service, not a lawyer, a takedown agent, or a PR firm. We surface information; you decide what to do with it.
To use TruthCast you must:
You may only create an account to monitor your own identity or an identity you're expressly authorised to represent (e.g. as a manager, publicist, or brand steward with written consent).
You must not use TruthCast to:
TruthCast offers a free tier, paid subscription tiers (Creator Silver, Creator Pro, Brand Monitor), and one-time credit packs. All paid tiers renew automatically at the price shown at checkout, in the currency shown at checkout, unless you cancel before the next billing cycle.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details — Stripe does, in accordance with PCI-DSS.
Prices displayed in currencies other than GBP are converted at live mid-market rates for display only. Your actual charge is in the currency your Stripe account bills in (usually GBP for cards issued to UK/EU/US accounts).
The Founder Circle is a limited launch offer for the first 100 members:
If TruthCast is acquired, restructured, or sunset, we will give Founder Circle members at least 90 days' notice and, where reasonably possible, migrate accounts to any successor product on the same lifetime terms.
Subscriptions: cancel any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the current billing period. No pro-rata refunds for partial periods.
Credit packs: non-refundable once purchased. Unused credits don't expire.
Founder Circle: as a lifetime access product, refunds are available within 14 days of purchase under UK Consumer Rights Act, provided you have not used the account materially (defined as: fewer than 3 scans of any type). After 14 days, or after material use, no refunds. Request refunds by emailing support@truthcast.io.
You retain ownership of everything you upload (reference photos, bio, connected handles). By using TruthCast you grant us a limited licence to process this data only for the purpose of operating your account and delivering the service (running scans, showing results, sending alerts).
Your reference photos are stored on our infrastructure (Railway/Postgres) and are only shared with AWS Rekognition to perform face comparisons on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings, or by emailing support@truthcast.io. Deletion is permanent within 30 days.
TruthCast surfaces information from public web sources including but not limited to: Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Google Search, news outlets, Reddit, and Wikipedia. This data is retrieved via third-party APIs (Apify, SerpAPI, official platform APIs where available) subject to those providers' terms.
We do not:
Trust Scores, sentiment analysis, and threat classifications are AI-generated interpretations. Treat them as directional signals, not legal or factual determinations.
All TruthCast software, brand assets, UI, algorithms, and documentation are owned by TruthCast Ltd. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
The reports, badges, passport pages, and score visualisations we generate for you are yours to share, screenshot, and embed. When sharing, please keep attribution ("Powered by TruthCast" or similar) intact.
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance and third-party outages (Apify, AWS, Stripe) can cause temporary disruption.
Paid tiers include stated scan and feature limits. Free tier is capped at 1 full credibility scan per month plus buy-per-use credits for Identity Shield.
We may throttle or suspend accounts that consume resources abusively (e.g. automated repeated re-scans) or trigger our anti-abuse systems.
TruthCast is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.
We are not liable for:
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the greater of £100 or the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
You can terminate your account any time. We may suspend or terminate your account (with reasonable notice, unless you materially breach these Terms) for:
If we terminate a Founder Circle account for material breach, no refund is due. If we terminate a subscription tier without cause, we'll refund the unused portion pro-rata.
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email and/or a dashboard banner at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer law in your country of residence grants you rights that cannot be waived.
